Best in Show
Phillips' Mill Youth Art Exhibition
In January of 2020, Woo submitted her piece Soaring Dragon into the Phillips' Mill Youth Art Exhibition and had won Best in Show. The exhibition had been adjudicated by artist, Jane Lafarge Hamill and was held at the Phillips' Mill Community Association in New Hope, PA. The exhibition showcases the work of high school students whose school is within a 25 mile radius of the Mill. Woo's piece is the first sculpture to receive Best in Show in the exhibit's history. Hamill had written a juror statement on Woo's piece saying,
"There are a few important formal qualities that every good piece of art may impress with; technical prowess, emotional connection, and conceptual strength. These can all be communicated through color, composition, texture, subject, etc. But sometimes, you can tell what is good by the amount of time your eye stays within the piece. These are the moments when you lose yourself while looking at the work of art, and come away feeling as though you've been transported somewhere else. Emily Woo's ceramic Soaring Dragon vase is one of those pieces. It has all the formal qualities one would hope for- but it goes beyond those elements and simply captures attention. It's for those reasons that I chose her work as best in show. Many congratulations to all the artists, and especially to Woo for her impressive piece."

Gold Key and Honorable Mention
Scholastic Art and Writing Awards
In 2020, Woo had won a gold key for her Sake Set and a honorable mention for her Brown Vase. Of 2,513 submissions, Woo was one of 290 artists awarded for her work in the South Jersey Region.

Honorable Mention
The National K-12 Ceramic Exhibition Foundation Inc.
After submitting several pieces to the K-12 Ceramic Exhibition, Woo's piece, Soaring Dragon, had been selected for the exhibit. This is the 23rd annual exhibit the foundation has run. The exhibit is typically held at the NCECA conference and was scheduled to be in the Greater Richmond Convention Center, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the exhibit was presented digitally in 2020. The foundation had selected Woo's piece as one of 10 Honorable Mentions awarded for her age group. This was Woo's second time showing at the K-12 exhibit, her first being in 2019 with her piece Celtic Knot Vase at the Minneapolis Convention Center.
You can find Woo's piece on the K-12 website along with other great pieces.
